OUR PURPOSE

2011

Ten years ago, our mission began with the purpose of 'Assisting The Distressed'. The mission has been kept broad because the journey is to go where the needs are. Because needs change, Trinity Without Borders is always responsive. Overwhelmingly, Trinity Without Borders has seen people reach self-sufficiency, sustainability and success, when they have the opportunity.

Trinity Without Borders, (TWB)  was created in June of 2006 by two sisters. One lived a life of addiction and homelessness, the other with perpetual domestic violence. The sisters, Vallerie and Janice, having experienced profound gratitude for having lived through so much darkness,  believed that to whom much is given, more is required. They wanted to help people get their lives back and live well. They applied for and received 501(c)3 status for TWB, Inc. as a charity

2016

10 YEARS LATER 2016

As a volunteer- operated and donor- supported, organization, Trinity began Street Outreach in Sarasota Florida, with volunteers setting up tables on sidewalks and offering Supportive Services to the chronically homeless, meeting them where they are at. This led to the use of a property that later became known as 'Tent City.'  The experience operating this property taught Trinity the difference between enabling people versus empowering them. Trinity chose and continually chooses to empower.

It takes a test, to have a testimony! The journey of Trinity Without Borders began operating out of a 1978 Trans-Van, offering help to one person at a time. Ten years later, it manages a portfolio of Workforce Housing, Safe-Spaces for Domestic Violence survivors, and Veteran's Housing including more than two hundred units. Trinity’s focus is to offer a Hand-Up, Not a Hand-Out so countless supportive services are continually offered to keep empowering people so that they can achieve and succeed.
